-MAKE SURE YOUR HORSE IS CLEAN - TIME FOR A BUBBLE BATH! PHOTOSHOP IS MAGICAL BUT CANNOT ERASE EVERYTHING.
-ANY TACK YOU PLAN ON USING SHOULD BE CLEANED BEFORE THE SHOOT.
-LIKE NAILS, A LITTLE HOOF POLISH GOES A LONG WAY!!!
-to braid or not to braid - this a personal choice and will reflect the feel of the images. Natural hair will give a more casual feel, braided will have a polished, show ready style - this is especially true for equine fine art sessions.
- Clip, clip, clip!
For the Humans
-If you are like me, makeup is not something that comes naturally - This is a fantastic OPPORTUNITY to have your hair and makeup professionally done. Ladies, if you've never done this, I can't even describe how amazing it will make you feel! if you happen to have these skills - carry on.
-LADIES - DRESSES ALWAYS LOOK AMAZING!
-if you want an outfit change with variety, Spice up basic pieces with layers (cardigans, layered button-up, sweater, scarf). Pinterest has some amazing examples on their site of how layering adds some dynamic touches.
-Avoid super bold patterns and neon colors.
-Make sure whatever outfits you choose, they are YOU - your personality is also a part of your decision making when planning.
-If there are multiple people in the shoot, lay the outfits out on the floor and see how they mesh.
–Pro Tip for kids… bring along a small (non-messy) treat to bribe them. If they like fruit snacks - that is a great option that won’t melt! A favorite toy to catch attention is also great for little ones - bonus points if it makes noise.
